Birds of Prey Migrations in El Salvador

El Salvador

Twice a year, the skies of El Salvador become a highway as groups of hundreds of birds of prey (eagles, hawks, ospreys and more) head south to escape from the winter in the North and then return to escape the winter in the South. You can experience this migration with a bird expert that will show you their route, identify species, and tell you how these birds travel such long distances with such little force.

Receive a talk about birds of prey of El Salvador – local and migratory- with live examples of a few species. Then, get a chance to experience the migration from a lookout or platform for better viewing.
